I ran across this web site and thought this idea of "pressure assisting" the sand feed was very effective. I'm looking for an old 20 gal. air compressor tank now to make one out of. Got to find a use for my new Ebay air compressor I bought
Anyway, I thought others (maybe Brandon) might find this of use.
I'm still waiting for the "other" people to help with a couple of sheets of plywood to rebuild my blasting cabinet

Dan,
Let me know when you want help with it, I'm game (although your hours tend to not match mine all that well.) |

Well, if you know of an old compressor tank I can get, that would help. I'm going to work on both projects at the same time.
When I originally built my sandblast cabinet I used a set of plans from TIP, but I'm told they are out of biz now. I requested a catalog from the new place that has plans........but the catalog hasn't shown up yet. So, will probably concentrate on the pressure blaster for now til the catalog arrives.
And............any old pressure regulators or pressure gages you might find would be a great help also. |

you might also check sears, they typically have a pretty smoking deal on a new comprossor of some sort everytime they do the craftsman club thing. You might be able to pick up a new compressor for super cheap, then e-bay the motor, and use the tank and regulator for you project. |

Ok, found a great 20 gallon compressor tank on freecycle for my pressure blaster. A 20 gallon tank should hold a lot of sand so I shouldn't be refilling very often. Now just have to find the time to bult it. Got the plans ordered for the cabinet........so after tha Astro is repaired I'll try and get on building the pressure blaster and cabinet.
Stay tuned..........pics to follow |
