On June 28th 2005 at 12:08am my girlfriend wrecked her 1999 VW Beetle with me and a buddy of mine inside after bowling in edmonds. Lucky no one was seriously hurt. She has a couple bumps and bruses, i have brused ribs, a couple torn muscles, brused knees, hip and a concussion, and my buddy has a concussion, torn muscles and a bursed hip. Heres what happend.
We left the bowling alley just after midnight. My girlfriend was driving, my buddy Jason was riding shotgun and i was in the back behind my girlfriend. We went around a corner at about 50-55mph when the car lost controll, smashed into a rock retaining wall and flipped. (Her car has had cornering problems before so i think there was someting wrong with her car. The senior investigator thinks so too) Both me and Jason were knocked out for about 2min then we got out and waited for medics and police. I was takin to the hospital that night because of rib brusing and difficulty breathing but after 5hours and an xray later i was cleared to go.
I must say after what happend we were all really lucky that nobody died or got hurt really bad.
Ill try to get pics uploaded soon. |

Glad to hear that there were no real major injuries. A good reminder to all of us, that things happen. Some of use have pushed our luck a few times, and in the speed that our cars are capable of, it is scary to think about. Another good lesson here, is how important maintaining a safe car is. Had the car been in good mechanical condition, and not had steering/cornering problems, the whole accident could have been avoided. |

pretty impressive, the passanger compartment remained very intact for a rollover accident.
although the car is shaped like a great big bowling ball. |

Remember the "arch is stronger" commercials when those came out??
Anyway, you think that wheel may have broken causing the wreck? |

Whoa. Crazy. Glad that you're alright. Any ideas as to what caused the accident? |

nobody knows what exactly caused the accident but we think it was something in the steering or suspenssion. The car had aftermarket suspenssion also. |
