alright, well i need to get some stuff done on my car........Mark Barnes(84transam383) was going to help me with it but sine he is STILL not back yet, and god knows when he will be back i think i am going to have to have the shop do it.

this is what the quoted me a while back:

*Remove and Replace Ball Joints - $270.00...for parts and labor
*and i guess once the above is done they have to do an alignment - $80.00

*Diff, Pinion Seal - parts and labor = 123.00 dollars

now i know this is expensive but do you guys think its a fair price for a shop to do all the work? arg, i wish i could find someone in my area that could help me out....anyone??

Can you do any work yourself??? If you can auto zone rents a ball joint press and coil spring compressor. You pay a deposit and then get ALL of your money back when you return them.

You need a good jack and jack stands, and some kind of chain to run through the coil spring to secure it in case the spring compressor slips or breaks. (dont skip the safety chain........it could mean your life) And some hand tools and maybe 3-4 hours of time. And there is no way to get around a front end alignment, but $80 seems expensive. I got mine done at Schwab for around $50.

Total after getting your deposits back you should be into this under $100 if you do the work yourself.

no, i cant really do any of that stuff.....well i never have.

he was going to show me how when he got back, but yeah.....that was supposed to be at the end of last year.
