Ok so many of you probably go to the track all the time, but I have never. So I don't have any experiance in dragracing. So if anyone has any tips for me as how the practice, that would be awsome. I have heard that the begining of the track is really slippery, would this be about the same as lauching on wet pavement? Also what your predicted times at the track?

Can't predict your times but I'm going for a 12.8.

If you have a manual trans you need lots of practice launching. You want to take off as fast as you can, without spinning the tires. Launch has a huge amount to deal with ET. Reduce your air pressure to about 23psi in the rear. To a tiny little burnout, enough for a little heat but not a tremendous amount of smoke. Even on street tires. If I don't do this, when I hit the 1-2 shift I get sideways or just light em up.

Automatic: Same burnout/tire psi... get to the light, left foot on the brake hard. Rev the engine to 1500ish when the last amber comes on, just before green, dump the brake and work up the gas.

Can't floor it unless you have slicks off the line for obvious reasons.

Consistancy wins races, not et.
