Hoping not to have to hassle with a machine shop here...
I spun some bearings on my LG4, and it's been sitting for the past 3 months , and rebuilding a 305 is pointless... plus 350s are abound.
So if anyone within 2 or 3 hours of Tigard, OR has a 350 short block ready to have heads, intake and gaskets dropped on 'em send me an email at sellmanb@hotmail.com . Please make the subject "SBC 350" so I dont confuse it with junk mail .. also please state your asking price in the email.
Thanks! |

hey man, i can look in the classifieds up here for you, the last couple weeks have been pretty nice on 350's... although they have been longblocks, mostly fresh built with about 3k-5k miles on them..
Even though its a longblock its still cheap and not hard to swap heads but they have been goin for like 350-450$... i had been lookin for awhile and would have boughten one but i have chosen to go with an LT1 for my 85 instead of carb. _________________ 1985 Z28. that would be superb! 350-450 is less than I'd be looking at with a stock replacement short-block from a machine shop! Any help is a ton of help! |

Hey.. i just grabbed the ads again today... there were like 6-7 350s all with pretty low miles.. like 5-10k, on them. The $350 ones were gone, and i forgot the paper at work, ill remember it tomorrow and post em up exactly what they are. _________________ 1985 Z28. Don't know what im doing stupid 4th gen broke me.

Thanks man, I appreciate those. A little steep though, I could get a rebuilt short-block for a little under 700, and i'm just going to slap my ported heads on there for free heh. I'll think about them though.
Thanks again |

Still looking for one. Any available in the local classifieds up there in Wa. or anywhere else? I really want to get this done soon. I was going to give a call to one of the numbers posted above, but it's been a while since that was posted so I figured they wouldnt have it anymore. |

Are you looking for a long-term engine or just something to get you by until you can build/buy something? This coming Friday and Saturday I'm helping a friend replace the 350 in his '76 El Camino with a crate motor. I was going to buy his old 350 for $400 just to keep sitting in the corner 'just in case' something happened to my other. I'll deliver it to your garage for what I'll have into it. It's complete from carb to oil pan and possible flexplate to pulleys. The only real problem with it is that one cylinder has low compression. It also has 305 heads on it. Let me know if you're interested.

Yeah I'm still interested! I could even meet you half-way or go up to you. I have a 1 ton toyota truck that I could drive up in (though I dont know how to get to Mt St Helens lol).
I'm looking for a motor that I can use for another 6 - 12 months so I can build this other motor without rushing it.
400 dollars you said? I can do that, let me know and we'll set something up.
Compression low on one cylinder is no big deal for me right now... I'd take a 283 if it would make the car move lol... just as long as the motor doesnt have any knock I'm cool lol.
You have me excited now lol... car moving on it's own again... wow. |

I'm actually about 20 minutes West of Portland down HWY 30. The engine is being pulled in Vancouver, WA. Correct, $400 and I'll bring it to you. Or meet somewhere in Portland... PIR entrance? That's about the only place I know of that's quick and easy to find.
Send me an e-mail and I'll get back to you when the motor's out and what time works best.
