Get your artistic groove on. I need help choosing color of some Speedhut gauges.

A lot of people do white. I can't see why, that looks horrible. And the Speedhuts in particular look like a baseball.

These blood red gauges look really cool by themselves. Not sure they look good in my car though.

Black always works but doesn't give a custom look. Also doesn't screw up the look either!

I'm thinking about buying a set of Speedhuts too since my AutoMeters are flaky, inaccurate junk. Personally, I like an understated look so I will be going with black face, white letters and green illumination to match the Delco stereo.

Go black, the other pictures you showed looked pretty bad with that dash and layout.

This.

Normally I much prefer a white face, but SpeedHut's white gauges do look goofy as your photoshop illustrates.

Out of those choices, definitely the black.

Seems unanimous. I'll probably do that black.

Frankly, I don't even want new gauges but my tach doesn't keep up at higher rpm's and I never know where is redline and when to shift. Doesn't bother me on the street because I drive by sound at those speeds, but it became a real hassle at the drag strip with the engine bouncing off the rev limiter every gear.

The tach is very accurate at lower speeds. I think the problem at high rpm has something to do with the RC constant of the circuits but I don't know how to fix that. Would love to keep using the stock tach if it would work better between 6000 - 7000 rpm.

Why not just install a subtle shift light?

I would guess they work similar to the camaro gauges. If so , I have a write up somewhere in the archives of this forum, with what pins to test and what resistance you want, and how I fixed mine.

I still want the tach to read right. The Speedhut tach has a built in stack of programmable shift lights..... lured in by that feature.

We can borrow from the food industry and call it Asian Fusion. Make it so popular that it gets it own forum at thirdgen.org.

I just mounted a big ol autometer and took care of that j/k I kept the stock tach though because I like glancing and seeing it wrapped lol

So you settle on black then?

I am letting the suspense hang in the air until I can take pictures. It will be a month before the gauges even show up on my door step.
