|
|
While I was installing a new steering column (mine had more problems than just tilt), I decided to upgrade the connection between the column and the box. What I got looks like a modified Cherokee shaft, and it bolts right in. Bought from this seller on e-Bay.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/191926577090
In my case, the job wasn't quite straight-forward as I broke one of my hard brake lines while moving it out of the way, it cracked right t the fitting. It was the passenger line which goes under the motor and above the K-member. Since I had to replace that one, my as well do both so ordered from Inline tube (www.inlinetube.com). They come pre-bent with metric fittings on both ends. My application doesn't have metric on the master cylinder end so I flared the fittings from my old lines on them and so fr they do not leak.
My new shaft as it appeared out of the box
And installed

I should do that upgrade. Did you notice any difference? I have a brand new rag joint already, so not sure if it'll be an improvement worth spending money on. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

It may be the same sensation as the "butt dyno" but it seems like there is better response. There is though more feedback from the road to the wheel. |

That looks nice! I will have to keep my eye out for one of those when I do the manual s-10 box swap this winter! _________________
