Well made a little more progress today. I got the old flexplate off and installed the new flexplate to update the Sfi there. Also started to prep the trans to install this bad boy.
This thing is beefy! I waited on cutting into the transmission because I ordered another brass filter for it and figured I would service it while it was out. I should have that Tuesday.
I also removed my n2o plate and got it ready to be boxed up and shipped out to induction solutions this week.
I'm hopping that this week I will hear good news that the converter can use some of what I have. Otherwise I would have to have another one made. Much more expensive to go all new then to be able to use some of it. He was going to install all good components into this one and said it would be very close to one of his full billet units he gets twice the amount for.
I'm really liking the ears they have on this trans since it would work for bop bells also. I now will have some thing to hook the blanket straps to and this should make installing and removing the blanket a whole lot easier. _________________

Pretty sure I have about 10 pounds of grease under there lol
Gunna take an evening and just scrub the undercarriage that should made things a lot nicer.
Last night I removed the bump stops, rear heat shields, and various items under the rear of the car. Looking into taking off the rear seat mounts.
Still trying to decide which shocks I want to run back there.
The Viking coil over setup sure looked awesome but I don't know if I would be better to spend more on the front being adjustable then the rear for next season. In the end I want front and back to be adjustable.
Also pulled the passenger side door to look at how I am going to get that crash bar out and I am worried I would damage the paint which I really don't want to risk _________________

Well one step forward and two steps back lol. As usual I get the one bell housing where not all of the mounting holes were machined. Looks like this one will be going back to summit to get another one sent out. They counter sink the holes for the 8 bolts to go thru and attach to the front of the pump on the transmission but on this one they only countersink 7 out of the 8 holes. Bummer. _________________

Man, that should be the easiest thing ever to catch in QA. Sucks to have to wait for a part because some company screwed up. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Yea you would think. I will post pics tonight. I called them today and got it all sent back. They are going to put their hands on the next one and make sure that all the bolt holes are machined. If not they need to alert their vendor they have a problem.
Got a call from induction solutions today. They are flowing my plate today YAY! _________________

Well to add to the saga lol Summit gets the bell housing back with my EXCHANGE slip filled out. Instead in normal fashion for me they generate a mail order return and send a check thru the mail system, Now I have a check floating around since they 30th of last month Pretty soon they will be getting another phone call to take care of this if it does not show up soon.
I did have to order another bell housing and this one is correct. Funny how it takes them 2 days to get me a new bell housing when paying out of pocket but weeks to get me a return lol.
I will post pics tonight of the other goodies. The converter came back from Lenny over at Ultimate Converter Concepts and looks to be a very nice piece. Also My nitrous system showed back up from Induction Solutions! Yay _________________

Finally got this bell housing installed tonight. What a pain lol
Also got my plate reinstalled and setting up the solenoids on induction solutions solenoid holder. Revamping it.
It will look better once I get the valve covers swapped out and I get some better evac setup going to the headers lol _________________

I was wondering how that bellhousing was going to be swapped. Looks involved with plenty of opportunity for error. |

Here it is ready to go in now. Got the converter installed.
Got the trans installed again tonight and began hooking things back up.
I'm liking the extra ears on the bell myself. I think I am going to use them to attach the blanket straps to since it will be much easier. That is honestly the hardest part of running a blanket is strapping it to the bell lol. _________________

Going to try to get the rest of the trans items installed tonight and get it filled back up at least then the car is running again. After that I will finish wiring up the plate. Looking at changing to a dominator. Not sure if that would be a better move then going to a 1050 cfm 4150 style carb. _________________

So no more speedo for this guy lol
One more area that always seemed to weep. Not anymore
Built some brackets to hold the trans blanket away from the shift linkage.
Have I mentioned I hate this thing lol. Oh well now that's all done
Going to try to finish up the wiring on the plate this weekend. _________________

Ok, got the nitrous wired back up. Just got to tighten a few fittings and flow it out. I bought this awesome flow tool to dial in the kit.
Also got the rear bumper taken apart and did further weight reduction. Getting everything ready to mount a chute bracket behind the bumper. I found a tiny bit of surface rust in a few areas though so I would will por 15 those areas before I put it together.

shocks will be here next week yay!
Decided to go with some 3 way adjustable for now. Once I get some of the other items up to snuff this fallowing year I will revisit that area and see how they have been working for me and if I really need to upgrade from there. I got a really good deal on them so I couldn't pass them up.
Anything will be better then the broken air shocks that are bolted on the back of it right now anyways lol.
Also looking into which rear anti roll bar would be a better option then the factory one.
I keep going back and drooling over the optic armor rear hatch drop in. I am just a little apprehensive about it still since I would be worried about fitment. I sure would like the weight savings though! _________________

I briefly thought it would be fun and then I realized my car would be outside in the weather for a week, covered in bugs, possibly damaged by the severe storms we have, or stolen from a hotel parking lot at night.
No way man. |
