Again, thanks for the help so far.

I checked out the procedure for removing the fuel tank to get at the pump, and it might be above my pay grade. I don't have a garage, just a concrete parking spot in my back yard. The part that freaks me out is dropping the rear end. I saw where some people have cut a hole in the trunk floor, but my car is in pretty nice shape and I don't want to mess it up.

Do not cut a hole. Not only does it destroy your car, it's incredibly dangerous! Last time I saw a pump replacement paid for was 15yrs ago and cost about $600. Garage is nice. Big jack stands are more important.

The tank drop is not as hard as people make it out to be. No special tools needed, aside from a pair of big jackstands.

The rear axle doesn't need to come out, just drop it down. Unbolt sway bar, panhard and shocks and lower it out of the way. Easy money. IME the exhaust usually fights harder than the axle.

Since your pump isn't completely dead you can use it to empty the tank, that makes it much easier to drop when working alone.

Here's a couple of old pictures from one I did on a fellow member's car to give you an idea. The front end of this car was up to drop the exhaust, you will only need to lift the rear:

Once again, thanks for all the help.

After thinking it over, I just don't think that I have the time or space to tackle this one. So back to my question, anyone got a shop that they like in the Seattle area? I'm in the south end of town, but towing it is no big deal.

Thanks,

Reed
