Tired of buying new parts(read Napa) and then replacing them within a year/500miles cause they aren't worth a crap. Awhile back I had to replace the ignition module in a new distributor with another napa module. Also the new napa/echlin coil I had installed I found to be cracked up the coil tower. So I swapped it with some oem one I found laying around in the barn. Which was probably removed for a reason as well. So now I'm getting misfires once again while under load. Brand new plugs/wires/distributor etc..

So I looked through my choices and tried to find something not made by mr gasket/msd/accell/pertronix company. Of that bunch I'd probably pick pertronix but I believe they're all owned and made at the same place now. Even though specs list differences who knows.

So I come upon D.U.I which I have previously only thought of as an hei conversion company. They make an ignition module which supposedly has different dwell programming. If that's so that tells me it isn't just a rebranded chinese part like some. Also they make a screaming demon coil to match their module. I can't tell where these are made, boxes just say Tennessee.. is that possible? But I'm going to give them a try. Can't be any worse then the parts store stuff. I was actually torn between this or buying delco.

One thing I do like the looks of. The coil tower is brass in this thing. Where the factory used aluminum. I've seen alot of corroded aluminum coil towers before. Other then the label and the brass terminal the coil looks just like the oem unit and plugs in the same way.

So anyone have real world experience with this company?

Good to hear. I bought the coil and module from summit. Got brand new Taylor wires so hopefully those are still good.

Question. Did you open up the plug gap as far as they recommend?

Installed tonight. Haven't driven it yet. Also discovered my napa choke thermostat has called it quits as well.
