So I bought a broken car.

1992 Subaru Legacy SS (Sport Sedan)
For those who are unaware this means: Turbo, 5-speed, AWD

I used to have a '94 Legacy SS with a bunch of mods that was pretty quick, somewhere around 220whp for an increase of roughly 100whp over stock. I sold it and bought a boring '99 Legacy Wagon that my wife now drives. Turbo withdrawals must be solved with the addition of boost to my life! So I bought this car non-running for $750. I ended up putting a used head on it for $50 to fix the seized cam journal which prevented it from running. All of the mechanical problems were caused by the PO being a dumbass. My goal here is to keep it stock and do some cheap, easy fixes to get it in as good condition as I can manage while keeping my total investment low. I plan to drive this car in the winter and have fun on logging roads. I may sell for a tidy profit or trade for something else after I own it for a while. This will be the 10th Subaru I have owned and 5th turbo Subaru. The 22nd car I have owned in the last 8 years.

If anyone else here nerds out about old magazine articles like I do, you might enjoy these.

Parking lot picture is proof that it now runs!

Nice! dont see many of those. Nice to have a "cheap-ish" car project to see what you can do without spending alot of money.

Passed emissions with ridiculously low numbers.
Exactly what I expected since its a bone stock flawlessly running low-mileage car, but still nice to pass.
