i am installing a new carrier(tru-trac-posi) into my existing housing (10 bolt)..
How do u makeup the initial shim pack for the carrier..
i know the shims need to be split between sides and adjusted by wear pattern.. i just dont know if the carrier needs to be preloaded or is it zero clearance? or is ther some "slop".01-.003"??

changing gears/carrier sounds easy on paper---

anyone have a bored out pinion bearing for setting wear patterns??
