Figured it was about time I ended my hiatus, and registered on the new board! Hope you have all been doing good, I haven't read through the back posts yet to see what has been happening.
I should be ready to go crusing again in a few weeks after I get Blue back from the body shop & mechanics where it is being fixed and the body work redone from the fire and other damage that I did trying to push the car out of my garage while it was burning earlier this month.
I lost a fuel line as I was starting it up, and the fuel sprayed onto my air conditioner compressor and ignited the fire. Burned for a couple of minutes until I could get it out. Torched and crisped the underside of my hood, burned up my air conditioner compressor and lines, power steering pump and hose(s), master cylinder, fuel lines and return lines, and some wiring. Could have been a lot worse. It was a huge fireball that came out of every hole in my hood. Didn't damage the paint on the outside of the hood, but it did put a small warp in the hood which isn't bad enough to worry about.
The worst damage came when I was pushing the car out of the garage, and pushed it into the garage door frame, damaging the drivers fender pretty badly, and slightly damaging the paint on the nose (which I was going to repaint anyways). I knew I was going to hit the frame while I was pushing the car, but my concern was to 1st get the car out of the garage, 2nd to get the fire out, and 3rd any damage to the car.
I'm hoping the damage doesn't come to more than 2 thousand, but I haven't a clue yet how much it'll be. Especially since I found out my insurance only covers fires not caused by my car, not engine fires. But it should be as good as new, or close to it when I get the car back. On the upside, my air conditioning will work again once all is said and done, and I am able to add the bracing to my scoop on the hood like I wanted to do when the car was painted originally. Sorry, no pics. I wasn't able to bring myself to take any at the time, and now I wish I had.
Anyways, I'm back...
PS. Hey Dewey, I thought you wanted those wheels.... call me. |

Welcome back Lance. Was wondering when you were going to get around to the Crew again....
Total bummer on the fire, and bigger bummer the insurance company isn't going to help.... Think you'll have it back on the road by the Cows? _________________ '88 Formula

Welcome back Lancey Pants.. I was wondering what happened to you!
That sucks big time about the fire man. Did it ruin anything else you had stored?

ACK fire bad. Paint it red, then the fire wont have to go after it because it's another color.
Welcome back dude. |

LOL, that was my laugh of the day
Thanks for the welcome back guys, and Joe - no, nothing in my garage was damaged. I grabbed my extinguisher from the back seat and pushed very fast. Like Schultzy I always carry an extinguisher too.
As to painting my car red... _________________ SmokeyBlue502

Yo Lance! Good to hear you're doing well, vice the car fire. Poor Blue with no 502.
BTW....today is my first day as a civilian everyone! So far, so good. Just job hunting still, but I have a month and a half left of collecting a pay check, so I'm still living.
I'm making damn sure I'm at the CowsIII, I may even have to bring my twin brother along because I think he's going to be visiting at that time! You guys should get a major kick out of that....the drunker you get, the more you're going to think you're just seeing double!
See you there, right Lancey Panties?? _________________
