I'm so glad I didn't sell my little 'Bird! I had fun wrenching on it tonight. I've had it for so long and done so many things to it that everything is familiar and easy. It's my little baby and always has been. I went under it tonight and everything is in perfect condition. I'm looking forward to the LSx project. K-member is out and new one is going in.
Now if I can get the engine repaired and insurance claim out of the way I can move forward. |

I don't know if I've ever heard anyone ever refer to them as 'little' before.
Congrats! _________________

What's the extent of the damage on the delivered engine? Has insurance given you any indication either way on your claim? |

Nice to see some progress on the old girl. They are little compared to the newer muscle cars.
What happened to the engine? Shipping damage? |

| Dropped and rolled on all sides. Then the ***** morons picked it up with a fork lift on the windage tray. Then they didn't say anything to me when I picked it up. |

K-member and A-arms are in today. I wouldn't say the BMR K-member is a perfect fit, but I did get it to fit.
I was having a lot of trouble getting the bolts started in the deep holes in the K-member. I couldn't reach up with my fingers to get them started and they weren't long enough to catch threads when I used a socket wrench. Finally dawned on me to put an extra nut inside the socket and that was the trick to getting the bolts to reach so I could get them started. |

Man that sucks. Let me guess, it was a used engine bought from a private seller?
I bought a ZZ4 shortblock for my car from Scoggin Dickey.
As I walked up to the loading dock to pick the engine up I spotted the crate. Good thing it was on a dock high loading dock. The bottom of the crate was blown out and the counter balance weights of the crank were sitting on the concrete. Someone had dropped the crate and the crank stopped the short block from going all the way through the crate. I refused to sign for it.
Scoggin Dickey sent me another one the next day. Found out the hard way that it had a main bearring knock, but atleast it wasnt the one that was dropped. |
