I was standing motionless. Stunned. In disbelieve that I put $50 of gas in my Camaro. And to think it will all be gone in 180 miles. Shocked

Smack!

Try $60 PER TANK, Jon.

Then think that I only get three and a half days of commuting out of each tank due to my propensity for living out in the woods. Rolling Eyes

My 2nd gen is a 21gallon tank.. burns premium @ $4.219 here currently.. or was yesterday anyway. Wouldnt suprise me if it jumped 10c overnight. Rolling Eyes Luckily its actually pretty conservative about burning it. lol

Is anyone else annoyed that you can't put more than $80 in a tank on a transaction? I can never fill my truck, 33 gallons. Good thing my e30 gets 28mpg....

Laughing
LMAO

We bought Jenn a Honda Accord last month because she was driving the Furd and diesel was killing us. And I get diesel about 50 cents a gallon cheaper than what you see at the pumps.

What is amazing is that my company fuel card for the semi has a $750 a day limit. And it has been a problem a few times. I can hold 300 gallons and $750 only gets about 190 gallons right now. The boss has 5 trucks running everyday and then his personal truck that is part time. He said the fuel card also has a $4000 two day limit. We have hit that a couple times too. He said they automatically debit his account every two days. He is spending about $10,000 a week right now. Shocked

You guys think it stings at the pump, add up how much more everything costs. Groceries, building supplies, and anything else that gets hauled on a truck is going to increase to cover the added fuel cost. It adds up to more than the increase in filling the SUV once a week.

Jeez rjmcgee, that makes me think I should move to a town with a train depot... nah!

Has anyone invested in the energy companies? All they do is make money.

I hear ya. It costs about 98.xx to fill up my truck. For some sick reason I keep tapping the nozzle to get it to an even hundred but havent done it since 2009. The saving grace is my 3/4 ton 4x4 duramax gets 20 - 24 MPG, doesnt matter HWY or stop and go.

That's so weird. My stepdads '07 with the LMM motor gets 12 in town and ~16 on hwy. I think he's got issues with it.

I can get 21mpg out of my old 6.5l TD on the hwy if I'm empty.

I put 60 in it yesterday and barely moved the needle Sad

None of the newer diesels get good fuel economy, they do however make alot more power than mine.

Newer diesels sacrifice 2-3mpg for emissions. Fuel is sprayed directly in the exhaust to clean the soot traps.

Try canada boys lol.

usually 70 bucks to fill the GTA, and closer to 90 to fill the charger. And this was before gas went to 1.35 a L (5.12 a gallon) for regular!

This also means they don't have to control it all in the combustion chamber, and are actually able to increase fuel milage in most commercial cases because the engine is running closer to the way it SHOULD.

Volvo is projecting an 8% fuel increase over US07 emission trucks.

Awesome. That means the diesel manufacturers are figuring out their emission systems. Kinda like gas stuff in the 70s.. first it sucked bad.. no power etc.. But as the manufacturers figured things out it ended up being a good thing. EFI and cop ignitions gave so much more control over the process.
