I'm out of the music loop it seems... I haven't a clue what is popular today, I'm listening to the music I've listened to for the past 10 years or so...
I've even found a radio station that, surprisingly, plays RUSH, of all things... but it plays everything rock that hasn't been recent... last 5 years don't exist to this station, nothing new, but lots of older greatness.
so open my eyes cascade crew...
what music is popular lately with you?
band names, etc. _________________

I listen to the Safeway Radio Network 40 hours a week.
Away from Slaveway I've been listening to just about everything:
Snoop Dogg, Outkast, Alicia Keys, Fabolous, and Kanye West on the R&B side.
Linkin Park, Nickleback, 3 Doors Down, Yellowcard and Switchfoot for rock.
No Doubt/Gwen Stefani, Janet Jackson, Dido, and Sting for pop stuff.
Def Leppard, Gloria Estefan, George Benson, Van Halen, Genesis/Phil Collins/Mike & The Mechanics, AC/DC and Enya for older music that still gets me moving to the beat. |

You know Aaron, its a sign your starting to get old when you realize you no longer know what music is popular anymore, and that you've been listening to the same stuff for 5-10 years...

I've heard the killers are insanely good live. Tickets for their show in seattle sold out in 3 hours... _________________

Were you just being sarcastic or did you not realize Rush is also a canadian band? Either way that's some funny shizzle! |

Dewey316 wrote: | Chumbawumba | It's Chumbawamba, and they aren't canadian! Besides their lack of musical talent, I am not a fan because I don't want someone else's morals forced on me when I listen to music. I listen to enjoy myself because of the absolute beauty of a well-performed well-written song. So there! |

Rush > any canadians, period. (so much better in fact, that I'd pay US dollars to see them in canadia ) _________________

Ya, I would too. I can't argue the point that they are way better than Nickleback but the sad thing is that Nickleback is one of the better bands to get popular lately (what are the alternatives? Good Charlotte? Lots of crap on the airwaves lately.) |

All of this Rush talk... I dug out the 2112 cd yesterday and I must say thoroughly enjoyed it. That was my first introduction to Rush when i was like 14. Still holds up.
