I couldnt sleep last night and was flipping through channels and found an interesting show about Dick Guldstrand. The portion I watched focused on a car he called the GS80 Corvette. His shop worked with GM and another shop close to his called TRACO and built the test bed car that would later become the 1989 - 1994 ZR-1. What really got my attention was the intake manifold. It had a siameesed intake runner but still TPI. Looked like I cut it apart and rewelded them together.
The show didnt do the Guldstrand Corvette justice, that was a bad ass car in it's day.
Google Guldstrand GS80.

Wow, that's really cool. I had never heard of the GS80 Corvettes. Interesting they chose to go with a big bore/short stroke combo. |
