Does anyone know how you adjust the secondaries on a manual secondary 4150? Mine isn't opening up all the way. I have no adjustment on opening and it appears that the lever is too long or that the hole has been hogged out from use on the secondary arm.
You can see it on the left side of this picture. Its the shiney inch long lever that links the primary and secondary.

I know very little about carbs, but on the Quadrajet there is a "stop" that can be bent down or cut off to allow the secondaries to open fully. _________________ '86 Trans Am - 5.0L TPI - LT1 cam - 700R4 - WS6

| I'm beginning to think no one knows carburetors any more. I will stop asking questions about them. |

Now that'd be cool. What size injectors do you need? _________________

I've got six brand new GM ones from a later 3.8 motor if you want them? (a, I don't know how big they are. b, yes I know you'll still have to get 2 more but this is a good start, right?!)
Are you coming to dyno? You're closer now, right? |

I have a few misc sets of injectors too but not a complete matching set of 8. I should just go get a set. I think its the only piece missing from my EFI setup. I'm a lot closer to the CCC hub now, no excuse to come out. All I need now is a trailer to get the car there.
And I just discovered I have a 750 throttle plate on a 650 main body. But at least I got the casting flash removed, throttle shaft slimmed, venturies cleaned, choke horn removed, and it's ready for DYNO! |

Sorry man, I was tossing things out left and right. I had a day and a half to go through my stuff and load it into the U-Haul. I paid you good money for those anyway. They were mine to toss... _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Or you could buy a whole new baseplate.. or even billet base plate. Nice thing with a holley is there are alot of parts available.
I havent said anything on this thread either because I havent had a double pumper since high school. Every holley i've had since has been a vac secondary. The few times I've worked on them, i've figured things out by looking at them, but just dont remember well enough to tell someone else how. I would probably try as Paul said though and just bend the link. |
