Damn, It's not stock now!
I'm running 1/2" line, so my system is pretty fast for how heavy the car is, can you hop that damn thing? |

I run 3/8 line for everything, but the rear is alittle faster then I am comfortable with, I think I will be switching it to 1/4 line between the valves and rear bags _________________

Yeah, I was running a 110/150 pressure switch and the front tires would chirp and the rear would hop a little but Im switching to a 150/185 little bit more pressure.. can I get the front off the ground?!
You have any pics of your setup? |

I found where the refrigerant escaped from. The shaft seal on the compressor is bad and leaks. Statically, it held vacuum, then held the charge until the shaft started spinning. New compressor and dryer are on order. At the shop I'm using, both parts will cost less than a new compressor at NAPA, but labor, though less than most places is still the killer. |

I was afraid of that Al. R134 is alot harder to hold in then r12. We replace alot of leaky compressors. Newer style compressors leak where their housings go together. |

The tech was explaining that with the initial charge (or attempt). He said the R134a molecules are smaller than those for R12, therefor harder to hold. That shaft seal may have been fine for R12, but the price difference (and availability) wasn't worth it to me. |

actually I have no pics that I can find of the setup right now (odd as that is) I will have to take some next time I dig that car out of the trees for something, not much to see though, between the vert top hydrolics, amp and subs, tank, compressors and valves, I have enough space left in my trunk for a 6pack lol
back to your post now Al, Sorry _________________

I also now run AC! i guess that makes me one of the old guys as well... But there's nothing like running a black thirdgen in 100+ degree weather! Hope the new compressor works well for you al.

So far, so good. Got the new compressor and accumulator in today, evacuated and charged the system. It blows cold air, but with the cooler air temperature outside, it was hard to tell just how cold (no thermometer used).
On a side note, Jamie (tech at the shop) showed me a tool you can't do without, and many have made mention of using it or needing it for several jobs or projects.
To put into perspective, that's actually a 5lb dead blow hammer, but the label was priceless |

Hey al don't forget to wrap your accumulator and the lower half of your air box with the sticky heat wrap. it will make a huge differance.
