There's not too many 3d gen parts you should save for originality. Most are available for very little $$ compared to other vehicles. So i'd just do whatever you want with the wheels.

What was going on? Laughing

Laughing First off, when I bought the car it had an imploded fender/door and broken gfx. I swapped the fender/door from my '87 formula and only took pictures from the passenger side for awhile.

I was cruising through town one day and pulled up to a stop sign. There was a loud springy POP noise and the front driver side collapsed onto the ground. I slapped the hazards and jumped out. Grabbed my jack, pulled the front end up and crawled underneath. I found the ball joint cotter pin had long since vanished and the ball joint nut was missing. I ran across the street to a gas station/garage that I had used to work at and had them order a new castlenut from the local parts store. When I got back to the car there was a local cop there (he already knew me by name at this point because of MANY previous run ins). He was about to call a tow truck when I insisted that I already had a friend bring a floor jack and I actually got him to help me push the car onto the side of the road.

Very Happy This car has been through a lot.

I see you've been cruising the garage. I just finished with a project and installed a pair of 8" woofers in the sail panels, using the space in the sail as an enclosure Cool

To be honest though, almost all the work in the purple 92 was done at a local audio store here in Bremerton. My installer friend does some excellent work.

Oops, forgot in that last post to ask people's opinion of painting the rims. Is that a no-no because they're original? They have been introduced to the curb a few times by the look of them and I'd love to go with a gloss black but haven't made any final decisions yet.

Thanks

Some stock ones like that are color keyed from the factory as an option. The insets are painted, the milled surface edge is polished.

Mainly, its your car, do as you wish.

Haha! You should see the reddish-brown turd stain I've been throwing money at! Rolling Eyes

90's Z wheels are not particularly rare or desirable, although if they're the 16 incher's they're a good cheap upgrade over stock. I would maybe polish the face of the wheels, and paint the rest gloss black. Shrug

Oh and welcome.

Meh, shiney wheels are over-rated.

Polish the lip, and go graphite or black for the rest.

Thanks again for the welcomes, I might try going with a polished/painted look but the main thing I'd like is to get the car down to 2 colors. Since the paint that was bought for it is "Honda Whisper Silver" I figure I'll hit everything else with black (smoked lenses, tinted darker, wheels and maybe some stripes if I find someone capable of doing them for cheap). Being that I'm not rich, it'll be a slow project but when it's done it'll at least look presentable haha.
