I was having my exhaust checked this morning and found out a friend operates the shop. One of his employees has this 1983 Z28 up for sale. Asking $5000 or best offer, claims the motor alone has that much into it.
The car is at the Kitsap Muffler shop in East Bremerton, behind the Outback Steakhouse. Owner claims mid 15's at Bremerton and the car still needs to be dialed in. _________________ 92 Camaro

Actually would be real easy to put $5k into a 305.. if you pay to have everything done. Just put in a v/6 in a yota.. was like $7k!!
Anyway, mid 15s on $5k is just embarassing. |

Considering a bone stock L69 is supposedly good for 14.9, that's kind of a ridiculaous $5000 305.
By saying it's setup for a Turbo 350 is he saying it doesn't currently have a transmission at all? _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Certainly sounds that way.

| I only agreed to put it up on the site. I thought his asking price was quite high too. Mid 15's? My 305 in stock form made 16.3 on a 3.08n rear and with the exhaust, open element and 3.23 rear (and little else), it made 15.8. |

My bone-stock '91 RS LO3 ran 16.5 at Pacific Raceways with 2.72s and a 700R4. |

Your only chance now is to go up against Ian for best fedora, or Brandon for car that everyone at gas stations thinks is KITT. |

I'm keeping an eye peeled for an Iron Duke Camaro or Firebird cause I think they are freakin' cool.
I think then that I will have the slowest car on the crew.
But Tony, you will always be the "Most Mafia Crewbie". No one can take that away from you. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

Darn, guess I'll have to go for slowest with a perfectly running engine and a good launch. Couple years ago I was browsing craigslist and found an immaculate '82 convertible iron duke with a 4-speed manual. I should have bought that car, I recall it was only like $1200 or something.
Found this on another forum:
| Quote: | Well you guys were so helpful I just had to have one of these 4 cylinder slugs.
I found one on ebay and picked it up last week. Put a new windshield and 4 good tires on it and went to Island Dragway on Fathers days and sped down the 1/4 mile at a neck breaking 19.31 @ 68.03 mph. What a rush !!
Bone stock with 145,000 + miles and that automatic tranny... what could one expect. |
