I was poking around thirdgen.org and I noticed that the cars over there are on a higher playing field than several years ago. There are a bunch of very fine rides! This just wasn't the case several years ago. It used to be that there were a few people with really nice cars, and the rest just drove 20 year old cars. Seems more people are really fixing up their cars now.
Is this a trend that 3rd gens are becoming more popular, or are owners just getting older and have more money? |

Supply and demand. Cars are getting older, crappy stock goes down, demand and quality goes up. Likewise, newer cars are moving down in price (and quality).
I've been noticing a lot of hammered early 4th-gens coming up for 1500-3K, and likewise some nicer thirdgens coming out of the woodwork for 3-5. |

I'd agree, as a car gets older, it typically gets more desirable, I mean, really, who when they came out thought an Edsel would ever be restored? Every car, even lame ones will get love when they're old, so cars like 3rd gens will definately start to see a lot of love. _________________ 1986 Camaro Z-28 IROC-Z 350 swap |

I really like seeing nice 3rd gens! more people should fix them up!
But 3rd gens are cheap and I would suppose many people like me have big plans to fix them up but get stuck with no money and no time to work on them. school + work + working on cars does not mix well, in my free-time I like to relax!

My dad got a 99 Firebird for $3500, in perfect shape, but with a v6. _________________ -Donald
