Does anyone know about how much it would be to rebuild a V6 on a 1986 firebird? I just need a ball park range. I dont know what is wrong with it. All I know is, that its not running because its been sitting for too long, about 2 1/2 years and it wont start now.

I think it'd be hard to asses the cost. You'd really need to know what's wrong with it. Heck, it could be a blown fuse or something...?

Yeah, it could really range from something as simple as a dead starter, to a blown headgasket.

Agreed. If it ran before, it will run again. Run through the check list and do a tune up,

Fuel? Spark? Timing? Moisture? etc

The biggest problem with a car that sits for a long period is the injectors get clogged and your fuel turns to crap.

First, DRAIN THE TANK. And then put fresh gas in. Then be prepared to take those injectors in for a good cleaning.

Start there.

Then, install all good plugs, wires, cap & rotor on the spark side.
