If anyone has a spare '165 ECU ('86-'89 TPI) laying around somewhere I'd be interested. I just put in 24 lb injectors in my LB9 so I need to do some tuning to compensate for it. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

I don't mean to pry, but why the injector upgrade? I had the stock 19s in my lb9 and put down almost a hundred hp more than your sig says. Not saying mine weren't close to maxed out... _________________

Why not?
LT1's in a bolt-on L98. Pay no attention to the power, check the A/F. Bone stock fuel tables in the chip, only thing I did was adjust the injector rate to the proper 24#'s. Cost me like $25 for the set of eight. Crazy junkyard-jane of a car. |

Okay. I don't understand your point aaron. That 24s can provide enough fuel for 13:1 @ 240hp? What does that have to do with a 155hp 305?
I mean if the goal is more power then yeah, cool. But with what? A turbo? A supercharger? Something other than a stock bottom end lb9.
EDIT; If I still had the dyno file I'd show you my 236hp pull that pegged the AFR at like 10:1 because the car was so rich. |

You pretty much said it, Ian. 24#'s gives you wiggle room upwards. Plus if he's going to do an LT1 swap he can just put them back on the other motor.
*Edit: Found the file:

I had traced my hard start problem to the injectors. Once I had them out I saw that two of them had severely cracked tips and I believe 5 were leaky. I had the LT1 sitting in my garage waiting to be prepped so I decided to swap those in so I can drive my car while I get the engine and harness ready for the swap. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

I think the swapping thing is more relevant than the wiggle room. Like I said, he's making 155hp and I was making 240hp. I think the stock injectors offer some room to wiggle. Just seemed like extra effort to retune, etc if there wasn't a mechanical issue (which there is). Were the 24s flowtested and such? |

I had 24lb injectors in with my Comp 262 cam and 350 and it fouled the plugs like mad! Before tuning it _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Was that with TPI or the HSR, Paul?
I had the exact opposite experience. My L98 fouled with the 22# stockers because they were leaking down constantly. |

TPI. Stock tune.
HSR would barely get out of the driveway on the stock tune. Even after setting for 24lb injectors. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |
