The steering box in my S10 was leaking from the bottom pitman arm seal, so I swapped it for the box out of Bruce's '88 IROC. The old box was 2 turns from center to lock, while the new one is about 1.25.

I love being able to turn a corner one-handed again, but I have noticed a severe drop in overall steering angle at full lock, which gets pretty annoying in parking lots. A little bit of reading on TGO reveals that GM messed with the stops on the boxes that went into cars with 16" rims.

Long story short, is there any way to (easily) adjust the stops in my current box so that I can get a full turn in parking lots, while keeping the low-geared box? If not, is there a low-ratio box that has wider stops?

Sorry I thought you were wondering about a high ratio box. There might be a 2.75 turn lock to lock. Check the junk yards and see what you can find, know one takes the steering boxes in the junk yard good luck.

My 86 RS box goes 2.5 turns lock to lock as well. I do believe that after 86 GM did away with the internal stops, can someone clarify? I can't remember what they did but there is something in there about that.
