I currently live in Las Vegas, but I grew up in Oregon, and graduated from Sprague high in Salem.

I have been in Vegas since '98, so I have been away for a while, but got laid off from my job last week, and I am looking for employment (insurance adjuster) in both Vegas and Oregon.

I was curious what the smog laws in Oregon are now??

I am looking to move to preferrably Salem, but possibly also Eugene or Portland, depending on where I find a job.

I have a stripper '88 IROC, 305TPI, 5spd, Ttop car with 75k miles.

its originally an AZ car so there is no rust, but the paint and interior are nuked from the sun. The car has no power options, no tilt, no cruise, and the aluminum drum brakes. only options are the 16" wheels, A/C, Cassette and the Ttops.

I have rebuilt the top end after i puked a headgasket, and added Comp roller rockers and pushrods, rebuilt heads, hooker shorty headers, MSD coil and wires, custom burnt prom, LT1 injectors, March pullies,Walbro 255 pump, and removed the smog pump, EGR and Cat. Its an original medium gray car. _________________ James..

If you live in the Portland Metro areas, you have to pass the sniffer. In Salem I don't believe there is testing.

As for the test, is is a standard Idle, and 2500 RPM. They say there is a visual, but the last time I ran my car (5 years ago now), they didn't do the visual check, just the tail-pipe readings.
