Has anyone done this to their distributor cap? If I can find another HEI cap I'm thinking of taking a look at where I'm at. Though I'm not sure if it's entirely important on the HEI since the rotor has such a huge sweep to it. But does anyone have any experience doing this? I think that's what it's called. Just aligning the cap to the rotor contact. _________________ E30

| I've watched it done on tv. But never even worried about it myself. Basically you want the ignition trigger point, rotor, and cap electrode to all be aligned, so that the spark has the least distance to jump. |

Sounds like picking the fly poop out of the pepper.
How does one adjust things that are keyed to fit only one way?
I used to file back the ground straps on plugs until I got lazy. No difference either way. _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

| There might be something to be had. Especially if you're dropping spark cause full advance is far away. Just putting it out there to see if it's worth investigating. |
