well atleast the end of it, the day was goin great up in till it started poring rain and i had to give me sister a ride to a concert and it was my first time driving in such shitty weather and im driveing down a hill and a suv in front of me hits his breaks to shop for a light so i hit my breaks and well lets just say the wheels stoped spining but the car didnt stop and bam now im sad Crying or Very sad. the suv had no visual damage and they said that they will take it to a shop and if everything works fine they wont say anything but well the camaro pretty much went right under the truck and so the bumper on the drivers side is caved in a little and alot more of the clear coat was scraped off Rolling Eyes the hood rippled and theres a crake under the drivers headlight pocket qnd the drivers side headlight is out of aliment so it pretty much just points at the headlight pocket and dosnt do much the only thing im really worrying about is the hood cause i didnt try to open cause i didnt know if it would closes again and we were in kirkland about 20 miles from home so i didnt really wana find out and i really dont wana try to find out now cause as of now this is the only car my family has to get around at the moment so if i open it and it wont close im screwed. but ya so i guess i need to have a body shop check that out. so if u just have a plain camaro hood and bumper laying around for very cheap/free let me know cause im really broke since i cant find a job Mad

ill get some pics up soon but its night so ill get better ones up tomarrow

Thats a bummer man. I hope you can get it all worked out.

And I hate to say it, but hopefully you also learned an important lesson about why you need to leave extra room between you and other cars in bad weather. And remeber, locked up brakes, don't work. If they lock up, you need to get off the brakes to stop. Its a hard lesson to learn.

Well put John. The other day I almost got taken out like this on my bike by some kid who wasn't paying attention. Luckly I was and always leave my bike in gear when I'm stopped so I can move if needed. I needed to. Like John said, it sucks your rs is messed up now but be glad no one was hurt and you learned a lesson from it.

Sorry to hear that, but I'm happy no one was hurt. Driving in the rain sucks, almost as much as driving in the snow. Like John mentioned, once you lock up the wheels, stopping distance increases and there's no way for yo to steer the car.

Hope you can get that worked out, from the exterior, it looks like a bumper cover and a little work to the hood.

I'm with stupid

If you're going to drive a car without ABS, you need to learn how to powerbrake, and more importantly you need to learn to do it instinctively whenever you feel the skid.

well i just got back from geting an estimate at the body shop
they couldnt really give me a full estaimate because the hood wouldnt open Rolling Eyes

but they wanted

727.48 for parts
375 for body labor
550 for paint labor
275 for paint supplies
9 for body supplies
15 for sublet/misc
+ 185.34 for tax

for a grand total of 2136.32 Lame No no no...

so i think ill be doing the work for myself once i get the parts
but dose anyone here know how to paint or know a place that will paint a hood and bumper for cheap cause i dont think ill be able to do that

If you haven't gotten the hood open yet, you can't trust their estimate. You might have bent a core support, or subframe horns. Gotta tear it down before you know what really happened.

That sucks! Crying or Very sad
Sorry to hear of your moment in the rain, yea you need a bit of extra room with the fine 3rd Gen's.
Things could have been far worse, so take it as a lesson in driving skills and stopping distance, feel fortunate nothing else happened.

So here's my tale: I had my DL for about 2months, and i was just off of 6th Ave and Steilacom Blvd, near Captain Nemos in Tacoma.
I was in my Moms Duster...with the 340 Very Happy
Anyhow, i was slowing down and there were 3 HOT babes waiting to cross the street, and 1 was just HOTTT...so i was rubber necking Cool ...POW Embarassed
The lady in front of me got into the left turn lane, and left her tail over in my lane just a bit!
I cliped her, fortunately not much damage!
Funny thing is...Hot Women can still cause the rubber-necker! Laughing
Hang in there dude...It will work out for you!

2700 For an exhaust pipe?! was he running gold plated Borla's or something!

sorry to hear about this man. I've taken the front ends off these things before and if you need a hand once you've got some parts let me know. I also have some painting supplies if need be. Smile

just keep your head up man! I did the same thing when i first started driving in my old acura. And man was that thing toast!
