I had no idea such a thing existed
the 90 bucks in that link is high though since you can buy a new head unit that has aux/ipod inputs for around that. But still thats pretty cool.
I had no idea. |

No wait a sec. it looks like that is an FM transmitter. Am I mistaken about that? I read the PDF instructions that site provided and it looks like just a transmitter. But I am probably wrong. I hope. |

There are others out there too. I just picked the first manufacturer that I knew off the top of my head. I need to a similar interface in my 89 so I can install satellite radio, but I need to install the slave cassette deck and harness that goes with the CD/radio |

a quick look at ebay shows some kenwood stereos/mp3 players for only 80 to 150. you might check around unless you really like that particular stereo _________________ 12th Man Seahawk Fan |

I looked up his deck, it's a CD deck but very basic as far as input/output goes. Not even a CD changer control, 4 channel speaker level out, 2 channel RCA out, no aux in.
If that was for me, my 89 has a Delco CD head unit from a 2002 truck with a 9-pin auxiliary port for a slave unit. I have a slave cassette but no harness yet. I intend to keep this one looking as much stock as possible inside, so to run an amplifier, a line level converter is needed. |

yeah i think runnin an interface would be a lil spendy when i could just get a new cheaper deck with a aux port. i dont really care for my stereo anyway
really off topic but i always have these small questions that i need answered so here it goes.. alright first week of april i am puttin on my new wheels and tires, since they are 17" and a lot wider than what i have now do i need to balance and align the wheels or just balance |

I would get an alignment just to be on the safe side.
The tire shop shoudl balance no matter what. If they don't balance, find a new shop. |

I agree. At the cost of the new tires an alignment is well worth the money spent. The last camaro I had in the mid 90's, I put new tires and didn't have it aligned, 10,000 miles later i needed new tires. Not cheap. _________________ 12th Man Seahawk Fan |

When I install and hide away the slave cassette deck, I need one of those to fake out my system and make it "think" it's playing a cassette. My interface requires the slave deck to be on and playing to make the auxiliary input work. |

Al, do you have pics of the input you were talking about?
It would be awsome to keep a factory deck in my new truck, but have sirrus/mp3 inputs for it.
I imagine I could get a deck easy from a wrecking yard. _________________ 2008 GMC Z71

I might hav a picture, but if not I'll take some as I do the install. The TheftLock head units like the one in my 89 have an additional port on the back for a 9-pin harness to interface with a slave CD, cassette or CD changer.
I have the headunit, the slave cassette deck I got for free. I still need to research a bit to see which product I need for the install. |
