ok so i have the 3.1 V6 and i need to replace the o ring on the distributor oil is coming outta it. and i cant get the distributor off i cant reace the bolt to get it off is there any special way to get it off?? idk what to do!


and does anyone know how to remove the catalytic converter i could get one side unbolted but the side closest to the Y-pipe is a b%&^ to get off i have tried many things but the cat just doesnt wanna come off..so if you know of anything that would work please let me know asap

all help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

There's got to be ways to get to em. A distributor wrench might help there. Longer extensions and a universal if you can't get to the bolts on the cat.

My 3.1 took a universal with extension and a socket (13mm or 15mm IIRC), pretty tricky to get it on the bolt with the with the intake plenum almost in the way.

Laughing I have to laugh cause I hated that dizzy bolt until I removed the air injection line. You know, that 1/2" diameter hardline that goes directly above the bolt. I always got mine by using a wobble on a 15mm shallow socket.

good lord....that was the toughest thing i had ever done just to replace a stinkin o-ring geez...anyway, i finially got it off and replaced the o-ring and i had to re-do the timing so i advanced it a lil bit from stock, and as the cat goes hehehehe power saws are awesome Twisted Evil just cut it off and then use a hammer and piece of metal pipe and gutted it out so its completely hollow now....it sounds so much better now
