Does anyone know offhand which datalog file I need for an 87 TPI Firebird?
My roommate is having troubles with his cooling fans not coming on. The dash guage reads correct and the ECM's sensor reads 200ohms at 220* so I assume thats correct. And the relay turns on cause when you jumper A-B the fan turns on. If I had the datalog file I could see what the computer is thinking.
Thanks! _________________ E30

It's like 235ºF.
The 2nd fan comes on when the AC is on. |

| Depends on the software. 32B is the mask. 1227165 is the ECM. |

| Thanks man. Is there a guide somewhere? I'm still lost as to how you find what you need. Do datastream stuff just follow the ECM code? |

| You're missing some information here. What software are you trying to use? What equipment (e.g. data cable) do you have? |

A really good place to start would be to look on the TunerPro site, under download->Definitions, for the proper files.
Here, even easier: http://www.tunerpro.net/downloadBinDefs.htm
Whose 12-pin OBD cable? Moates? AKM? Other? Homemade? |

| It's a moates cable. I've used it for my 94 LT1 and 91 '730. I've downloaded the datastream definition so all I have left to do is try it out. My friend has a prom burner so i'll have to nab that if I want to change anything. |

Alright, I'm running the $32.xdf, the 1227165_160.ads, moates xtreme aldl, and I cannot make it talk! Its an 86 firebird 5.0 TPI
The error is it says its "ALDL: Connected" but nothing happens.
The laptop shows it on ComPort 2 but when I test the cable is says "Cable not found or functioning (8192 baud). Any clue? |

| wrong com port specified? look in device manager to see what com port the driver is installed to (with the cable attached). 10K resistor in place between pins A & B? |

| I'll see if I can try that tonight. I'm pretty sure I tried 10k and open, and then double checked to make sure it was on Com2 in the device settings of the computer. Thats the only one that popped up at least. |
