I tell you this is not my week for trannies. First the trans cooler on the camaro leaks now the trans on my mercury is going out.

It won't shift out of fist until its at 35mph no matter the throttle position. Even if I try to shift manually it won't. It did this 3 years ago after the grommet rotted off and the TV assembly fell off the throttle linkage causing it to fry. The TV is still on there but I have the same problems.

Time for another rebuild?

Check vacuum line(s) going to the tranny. Sounds like it may be some sort of modulator problem as well. Also, see if the governor can be accessed fairly easily, maybe the weights are stuck? (If it is not ECM controlled, that is!)

It's been awhile since I've dealt with any tranny issues, being as how I hate driving automatics so much, I go out of my way to find a manual version to buy!

G/L!

Its funnt I tried to find a manual trans for both of my cars but they were either too high milage or too expensive. My friends would prefer autos but get stuck with manuals, go figure.

I do want to do a T-56 swap in her, but as always, all in time. I have to get the trans in the merc sorted out first.

Woohoo it was just the TV linkage that rusted loose. That will save me some $1178
