Let's face it- We love them to death, but F-bodies are far from the best winter vehicles and being 16+ years old are often not exactly the most reliable transportation...so I decided to make this thread to see what everyone else drives when they aren't driving their camaro/firebird?

Um. My DVS kicks. Very Happy Don't drive anything but my bird. Sucks in the snow with the 19x10s but it puts a smile on my face slid around! Just need a little (yes, just a little) confidence and know throttle/brake control with the lack of traction.

I use to daily drive my '92 RS and '97 RS in the snow with blizzaks and they did just fine 99% of the time...my '93Z with 265/295 pirellis was god-awful in anything but the dry but now

My winter vehicle/DD is a Jeep Wrangler...good ol 4 angry hampsters under the hood and a 5-speed. It's a soft-top, non-ac vehicle. Basic, easy to work on, gets 20mpg and feels only slightly faster than a school bus...but hey, it's a Jeep and goes anywhere and I love it.

I've done a few things with it including RB4 navigation, 3" of lift and 33x12.5 BFG all terrain tires, re-geared to 4.88 gears with a rear trak-lok differential and some other small goodies.

It gets me around town and back, with the occasional trip off the beaten path. here's a lousy camera phone pic:

Eventually I would like to get some nice off-road bumpers and a winch...I wanna get my camaro roadworthy first though.

I also have a '97 Audi A6 Avant quattro that my wife stole from me, a '90 F-250 302/2wd that i haul stuff around in when it decides to run, and of course the '81 camaro that I'm leisurely converting to SBC power, I've been toying with the idea of getting a 3rd gen formula to play with, but I don't know where I would park it...yet Wink

I drive two 3rd gens equally. When I'm working on one, the other becomes the daily. The 92 V6 is the logical choice for a daily and it has all the electronic gadgets, but lately I've been driving both equally. I guess it depends on which one is at the end of the driveway Wink

Reconsidering, I guess if mine's broken I drive the mudbathfinder. Which is just as scaring in extreme weather. Laughing

I drive a Ranger Pickup.

2.3L 4cyl, 5 speed, and freeway gears (IIRC its like 3.27 or 3.03)

If you have four angry hamsters, I must have 4 wounded hamsters, because this is by far the most gutless car I have had to date.

But getting 33mpg on the freeway is nice. Smile

Current daily is a 1991 Ford Thunderbird with a woefully gutless 3.8L V6 about to roll over 180K. Currently I'm actually getting worse mileage than the IROC due to what I suspect to be a sticking injector on #6. Rolling Eyes

BTW, Ian, do you still have that Blazer with the blown tranny?

My 91 WAS my daily driver before I pulled out the engine. Now, I have driven it under 10 times since christamas.

My 85 Z28 is my daily till the 91 is back on its feet. Thats right. I deliver pizza in the rain, sleet, and snow, facing things like breakdowns and bad fuel millage every night in a Camaro Very Happy

Since we dont have a "winter" here. I would be driving the camaro when its running. Which is not alot lately #$%^&*

Otherwise I have a 99 GTP sedan. 3.4" pully, wizair intake, ubend delete, F&R stb's, GMPP trailing arms. I have a set of 17" Grand Prix wheels to put on, but one is bent so I gotta find a replacement.

I can also grab the keys to a 67 chevy truck, 250ci/3tree if needed.

Yup, I picked up a four speed stick and haven't gotten around to getting a matching 205 xfer case so I can put it back together!

When I'm in between F bodies, my families car lot sponsors some great drivers for me.

1992 Honda Prelude, 249,000 Miles, 30 MPG. Sold it for 3500 dollars. Amazing yeah? Only had a new auto tranny and one adult owner before me.

Current Driver:

1995 Nissan Sentra GXE 5 Speed. Current Gas Mileage: 235 Miles per HALF Tank. I am setting records in this thing

Very Happy

1988 Trans Am GTA 5.7L. (not in the snow, but it sees rain, and winter).
1986 "formulated" Firebird 2.8L. sees snow, sees ice. has seen 4,000 miles in the last 60 days. Shocked has seen 600 miles since Sunday.

Doh! I was hoping you'd have given up on it and I could buy it for nothing and do that exact swap myself. Laughing
