It appears someone (possibly vandals) decided it would be cool to try and kill my dad on his way home from work.

They completely broke off 3 lugnuts, loosened 2, and left 1 tight. Probably inthe hopes his wheel would fly off on the freeway. Or maybe they wanted to steel the ugly as hell rims, but didnt know which way to turn. At any rate, they put so much torque onthe studs that they completely broke off the drum of the brake. 3 studs are missing... not just removed lugs.

I was looking at from behind the wheel, but I havent taken it off yet. It looks like all I will need to get is either a new drum brake, or possibly just a new cover for the existing drum brake.

Or not... does anyone know what part I should be replacing here?

i would disasemble it and check everything out. since the drum mounts straight onto the axle flange, i would imagine it is hard to do any damage to that. but inspect everything, in anything suspect, i would replace. Check out the axle flange, and make sure that the new studs all seat properly into it.

Dude, the same exact thing happened to me today! I had put my RS wheels on the Z, since I had finally gotten it road worthy, and figured that the best test would be to drive it to work. Coming off I-5, my right front wheel started to vibrate. I was blocks from home, so thinking it was a broken or loose tie rod, I slowly drove home. When I pulled the lug cover on my wheel, four lug nuts fell out onto the ground! One was still tight, holding the wheel on. One stud broke off and one was stripped. Either someone loosened them, or I forgot to torque that one down. All I know is that I am pissed 'cause now I can't drive the Z to work again tomorrow! Mad
