I had a powdercoating job done on the springs I got from Brandon. They turned out excellent, and the place is on my way to and from work. I dropped them off on the way home a week ago and picked them up this afternoon. I can't wait now to get them in the car, should be very nice with the new shocks and struts.

That would be Kitsap Powder Coatings.

They have a website - here
http://www.kitsappowdercoating.com/

Thanks Mike, these go in with the sway bars and bushings. Next is to order sub frame connectors and to fix the door pins and window regulators (I hate squeaks and rattles).

Cool! I am about due to look at door hinges.

Did you powdercoat the sway bars too?

Also, did you do a lot of sound deadening in the purple car? I was looking at this: http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/car-audio/403534-sound-blocker.html

Seems pretty inexpensive. I was thinking if/when i replace carpet it might be nice to install some of this. (p.s. if this is too much of a hijack let me know and i'll start another thread)

Sway bars are powdercoated too, even though I had painted them - I figure I'm only out 2 cans of paint.

Sound deadening, haven't done a whole lot, but I was shown another product which is a bit less expensive than Dynamat and applies pretty much the same - http://www.fatmat.com/

miamivice, if you're looking to have ceramic done, then the place to go is to Performance Coatings in Auburn, they did the headers and Y-pipe I got from alloy, awesome job - http://www.performancecoatings.com/

Is there a special powder coat they apply that is flexable? I know the powdercoat i got on my intake is NOT flexable.

I wonder if the 450ºF bake temp would do anything to the spring rates?

Mine weren't the first that they had done, and they assured me that it would last a long time. Only time will tell...

Had a garage install the springs (don't want to deal with them without the proper tools), and for some reason they only did the front. Those things are soooo stiff, with my body weight of almost 200 pounds, by leaning and pushing down on the front, I couldn't move it by more than a couple of inches, and there is no bounce on the rebound - the V6 car will bounce once and moves significantly more. I think the front sits a little higher now too, but then I may be used to looking at the lower stance of the V6 car. Can't wait to get the other half in....

It takes a few weeks of driving for them to settle down. I'm 1/2-3/4 lower now, than when I first cut my stock springs down.

They are in on all four corners now, and the sway bars too. What a difference they make in the ride. That was the single most effective mod I have ever done to any of my cars, the difference is night and day. Next step is the SFCs, will be ordering within a month or so, can't wait to get them installed.

Al, are you doing the "bolt in" or "weld in" Subframes?

Jake, they are WS6 springs courtesy of Brandon at COWS '07. MOOG equivalent are (I think) 5662 front, 5665 rear.

Chris, they will be weld in SFC's, probably from UMI.

what is the in/lb rating of those springs? If you're 200lbs, I'd guess around 400in/lbs?

cool. I was looking at the same set of SFC's for my 86. It'll have to wait for a while though. Certain...errr... Powertrain components take priority over suspension/body mods.

It's actually quite a bit more. I had Ronnie at West Bay Auto Parts here in Bremerton look in the books for springs for a 1987 Formula (which these came from, if I'm not mistaken). He found the stock replacement springs have rates at 748 front and 104 rear. I found very similar numbers searching on TGO.
