|
|
i think barts mopar tech certified or something?
anyways,my98 ram 5.9 360 magnum is giving me a slight problem, and an anoying one at that.
when its totally cold and its first started in the morning, the damn thing whistles? sounds lik ea huggggge vaccum leak, yet the motor doesnt idle funny or stumble.after a minute of this, the sound gets louder, and then the motor acts like its gotta comp XE 294 solid rollre in it,it lopes bad,and runs ungodly rich {black out of the pipes},if you rev the motor up,the whistle will go away, and the motor returns to a nice smooth idle that isnt rich? im thinking its the IAC thats causing this,it never sets a DTC though on a side note,it did started this when i put the mopar performance PCM back in from going down to joes {i put the stocker back in to get some more mpg} changing them back doesnt get rid of the problem?
mods are mopar M1 intake,k&n highflow cold air kit, mopar performance PCM,26# mopar injectors, and roller rockers
anyways, any and all help apreciated. |

is that a 2 peice intake gasket?
If so check for vaccume at the valve cover whare the pcv ataches if it pulls vaccume then it is the gasket between the 2 peice manifold.
other things can be the carbon build up on the throttel body, other intake leaks and the break vaccume booster. whare is the wistle comeing from? _________________

yeah,i beleive it has that intake gasket you refer too,but its good,no leaks,my parents 98 jeep is all stock and has the intake problem, pings alot. my dodge never has had these problems.
also i was told with the M1 intake it solves the problems of leaky gaskets..
the sound comes from near the TB..its really really wierd...very hard to describe |

Unfortunately it's a Dodge, that means just roll it in the nearest landfill and run down to Wal-Mart, go to the toy isle, and get another one. |

Boy thats saying alot.
I propose a good old fashion pulling contest at Cows. Marks Dodge chained to my Ford out in the field and see who can pull who around backwards.
Besides, if I break the pickup I can always put it on the trailer and have Gibby tow it home for me with his RV-ROC. |
