Here it is, the new project. I am working on getting the dash and wiring all back together right now. Still trying to get the 2.8 to run. When the Nova leaves it will go in the garage an d get the engine stripped out. I just building a mild 355 for it. 10.5 comp, 292 comp cam, 202 64cc heads, holley intake and carb. Still trying to figure the tranny out, dont know if I should keep the 5 speed or go to a turbo 350. I didnt think it was bad for 300 less hood.

Interior inst as good. The dash was in the back when i got it. The seats have covers on them and are dirty. The carpets are toast but the dash pad is perfect. I have the dash back in just trying to get the wiring all back together. I did find out that it does have vats key system. went to my friend at Chevrolet and was told that they cant make a key for it by the vin number because Chevrolet didn't keep very good records of them. he said it wasnt till 99 when they started keeping good records. Guess I am going to do the resistor trick for now.

V6 T-5 wont bolt up to that new 355, so you'll be going with a new tranny either way.

Didn't we just go over this in another post?

YES a V6 T5 Will bolt up to a SBC with a F-body SBC bellhousing. You'll run the smaller V6 Clutch disc, or have a 10" friction installed onto the V6 clutch hub.

That's not really a "mild" 355.. that's pretty stout. I wouldn't run the V6 T5. The tall first gear walks on itself causing the case to distort and cause failure.
