That is a disgusting question (when taken out of context) Very Happy

So I have finally reached that point in body work were I need to decide if I wanna shave the handles or not. I am already shaving the antenna, and the front side markers (Illegal I know... but I just love the 67 Camaro look). So I figure, what the hell, I dont really use my handles anyways.

Problem is I dont have money for the actuators and stuff. But I am an ass and am more then willing to spend the next year crawling in through my trunk untill I can afford them. It is not my daily driver anymore anyways, so my plans are to only drive it on T-top permitting weather. (So I can hop in the car Magnum PI style)

I just want your opinions on the shaved handle look, and how much are actuators and stuff running these days?

Also, does anyone know the exact rules for drag racing at an NHRA or an IHRA track with shaved handles?

Back in the old days when it was still semi-cool to have a keylock we just rigged a bellcrank from the key to the lock mechanism. Stick the key in, turn and the door pops open.

Or rape a set of power lock actuators out of something and wire them in.

remeber without door handles, you are usualy not legal to run at the track....

that being said, the shaved handles look GREAT on thirdgens.

If your going to shave them and not put the door popers in I'd weld the doors shut. I think that although it is extreme you'd get alot of respect for doing it. Just think about how tight your car would feel...

As cool as that would be, I plan on getting the poppers as soon as I can afford them. Just not this very instant.

hehe yeah, what if your battery dies or something and you can't get the car open from the POWER door locks?!

Untill I get my 10 point cage put in (probably in mid to late never), I shoudlnt have a problem climbing through the trunk if and when the need arises.
