I think I scored work with my cousin building fences. So that should be nice. I would assume bust my butt for 8 hours a day then be stuck behind a desk somewhere.

Just need to wait for the nice weather to come around and cross my fingers that he doesnt deicde to hire me after all.

Sad Yeah....I know. I just didn't have a good resume yet. Believe me I didn't forget and definitely not that I didnt appreciate the offer...but I didn't go to TAP class yet to learn to make effective resumes. After that class I realized how crappy my initial ones were. I honestly appreciate your help Mikey.

*sighs* I hate feeling/seeming flakey. I have probably one of the most stellar work ethics out there too..... Duh

why don't you buy a rake, lawn mower, and a truck. You make good money doing yard work. under the table.

I'm with stupid I did that, and I used my dad's pool equipment and had my own pool cleaning service that I ran out of my VW bug when I was in HS.

Made pretty damn good money. Not as good as kids make today, even with the compensations, but good enough at the time!

Lots of ways to make money, if you really want to, and not afraid to work!

Sounds like a porn...
Err.. what?

See, I tried that for awhile, I got my pressure washer out and started cleaning people's driveway's and fences. Made decent money, but two problems arouse. 1) Pressure washer pumps dont last long at all, but the money was ok, and I could afford to get it fixed. 2) The city I live in, Mill Creek has a homeowners association that bans door to door services. And technically I was soliciting, even though my neighbors wanted me to do the work. Long story short, I am not allowed to pressure wash anymore.

Ok, is there any rule that you HAVE to stay in Mill Creek? Believe it or not, there's a whole 'nuther world out there dude! Besides, even if the HOA has a problem with "door to door" services, then just how the hell do they expect the residents from getting their stuff done? I frickin' HATE HOA's just for that reason. If I were you, I'd get a copy of their bylaws and find the loopholes and use them! Screw them!

Put a $2 ad in the Nickle for the same thing. If the people that you'll be doing the service for makes an appointment and you go in and out, that's not really "door to door", is it? It's a good idea, and you should run with it, at least as far as it will take you. My point is, don't give up, there are many, many, many ways to make money since you are willing to do the work for it.

Incidentally, my best paying, but worst job was laying asphalt so I could make money for the prom. Northwest Florida during Mar/Apr/ into May sucks for heat!! Especially laying asphalt that was over 120* on the ground! I went through 8 pairs of boots in almost 3 months!! But it was damn good money for unskilled labor as I was!
Best job was installing car stereos for friends out of my garage (with more of dad's tools!)

Keep the proverbial chin up mister, you'll be fine! Laughing
