Yet another power valve failure in the holley.. started acting up saturday.. same time as the alternator failed.. Sad This time I bought an actual holley brand valve, instead of napa echlin. And BLUE non stick gaskets of course! Wink I'm sure they'll make all the difference! If this thing didnt run so much better i'd give up on it for sure. What a pain in the ass!

I've sworn off holley's many times. Just sucks that they make power. Cause they dont do anything else well. Every one i've ever had either blew the power valve or started leaking. Lucky i've never burnt a rig down with one. I can see why people like fuel injection over a holley. My edlebrock is totally dependable. But the power/throttle response is just so/so. The quadrajet on the car works perfectly, but the choke is antique and can't be upgraded. I have debated stealing the quad off my 454 and trying it on the truck, havent totally dismissed that idea yet. We'll see what happens with this power valve. Part of the problem is that its so easy to swap this back and forth. Quad, holley, or edle can be switched in less than 1/2 hour. So when I decide i've had enough and put one on. Couple weeks later, its like.. well maybe lets try this again.

BTW.. quit thinkin bout my sausage... Shocked
