I'm putting my SFC's in tomorrow, but I wanted to know if I should weld the SFC's to the floor pan? I see a bunch of SFC's sold that only get welded at the stock subframes. My worry is that I'll blow a hole in the floor because the metal is thinner there. The kind I got are the straight 2" square tube that bolt in at the tranny x-member, and then get cut to length. Made by Competition Engineering. I've been told they will work great (maybe overkill for my V6). I just had that one concern. Thx!

Mine are welded to the length of the SFC's along the floor. It is a stitch weld, so there is about a 2" bead, then a 2" break, then 2" bead, etc.

Did you weld both sides of the sfc's? I'm going to pay special attention to the subframe area's and seam weld the subframes as well as I can.

I'm assuming your sfc's are straight, so what did you do to get it around the rear seat bumps? Last I checked, they get in the way of the straight shot between the front and rear frames. I'm thinking it would be best to pound any obtrusion up instead of cutting a channel out and welding it closed.

I've owned these sfc's for over a year but they require custom exhaust. Now that i have custom exhaust, game on.

I have Spohn SFCs, they are fitted to the floor pan. The pass side one is shaped to fit the floorpan.

Here is how mine fit. It is probably hard to see the welds along the floor pan though.

yup, mine bolt right where yours welds to the tranny mount bolts and goes straight back, no bends.

Just weld the stiches on the inside of the car on the sfr along the floor. Make sure you pull your carpet back! Hmmmm bolt it at those bolts i dont like. They are already notorious for stripping.

Bad juju. The connectors I got are the Ghetto Fabulous ones. There is no way to make them fit, unless they get hacked up. They are straight, and it is not a straight shot by a long ways. I'm going to sit on it for a bit. Bum deal.

My Kenny Brown SFC's installed the same as Dewey's.
