Look what was here tonight.

Actually they were in the same spot this morning too.. Guess with Yogi not here at the moment they feel the need to keep his pasture in shape!

That be's a heard of elk my friend. Very Happy Seems I feed the local herd.. at least till hunting season then who knows where they go and hide. Smart critters.. theres anywhere from 30 - 50 of the buggers that come and go.

That's very cool, Brandon. I was out at Eagle Fern Park with the kids over the weekend (drove by Schultzy's neighborhood), and the only wildlife we saw was one rabbit, a couple ducks, and some birds. Sad Sometimes I wish I lived out of the city, if only for the fresh air, wildlife, and lack of light-pollution.

I think we are too loud whenever I'm there cause there are no heards of elk around.... that or the motor fumes make em run away. One of the two.

Actually Paul if you make noise its better. It's when you try to sneak up on them that they dont like it. I've had 2 big bulls come right up within 50 feet of me when I was diggin up topsoil with the backhoe.. a little closer I coulda brained one with the hoe! Had a bow hunter pissed at me once cause I was rototilling the yard. Thought I was making too much noise.. Had to yell at him to tell him the bull was 20 ft from him just around the blackberry bushes. Dont know who was shaking more.. him or the bull.

Very Happy That's quite interesting. Totally opposite of what one would think.

they get closer when you are makeing a lot of noise because they know that you are not hunting them and when you are quiet they want to stay away.
