Just thought I'd start this off with a few.
Here's our group from Saturday night at Champs Karting. Couldn't get any of the action due to the low light and fast motion,
A very nice '67
GTO
H.O. Vert Bird
Another vert
Anniversary bird
A couple of tries at artistic shots
A view of the masses
Somehow, I missed getting a picture of the whole car, but here's the best GTA in it's class. Congrats Mike

It was great seeing everyone. I'd say this was indeed a very successful meet. We had something like 9 or 10 crewbies show up throughout the weekend.
I had a great time! Here's just a few of the pics. I think I took somewhere around 30 pics total.
L-R seated: Tim (Irocmagman), Tim jr (his son), Brandon, Mike (Shultz), John (Dewey), Al (just out of frame), Jake (foreground).

Tony said John got "hardcored" by paul at Champs.

| No pics inside with the go-carts. Too fast and too dark for the camera to keep up. I don't think anyone else tried. |

for those that made it to the end of the show, there was this song by Paul Revere & the raiders called "The Judge" that was from the original TV spot. brandon was telling me about it. well i did a quick search and found the original commercial on Utube. so for you older guys it's time fro a blast from the past, a way-back play-back, or as KC casem (sp?) would say "lets go back in time to 1969"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Vrc2b5qtLk&mode=related&search=
brandon was also telling me that "the judge" came with factory cutouts, well, i don't know, but the commercial i found for the 1970 GTO does show factory cuttouts. pretty cool.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGC3dlzQ8WQ&mode=related&search=
i kinda want a GTO now... no i don't... i kinda want cutouts on my GTA now...
another GTO commercial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QmYgpqLlsk&mode=related&search=
also, according to this website
http://www.musclecarclub.com/musclecars/pontiac-gto/pontiac-gto-history.shtml
only a handful (233) GTOs were equiped with factory cutouts. GM higherups saw the commercial and immediatly cancled the option. wow! _________________ 86' firebird (Junked in 2015). 88' GTA (sold in 2020).

Awesome pcs guys! I had so much fun this weekend, I'm glad everyone made it out. It was fun to have an excuse to pull the primer beast out and drive it, even though it smoked like crazy and asfixiated anyone behind me, sorry John.
It was cool to finally put some faces to the names I always see. I also loved seeing your cars cuz you guys are not the average thirdgen drivers, man it makes me super excited to keep working on mine.
Thanks for Mark for the food again!!

Many thanks to Mark and Andrea (hope I got that right) for hosting, feeding and putting up with us! Much appreciated.
I had a great time and it was nice to meet you guys- Mark, Dave, Tim, Jake, Farshin. I wish Dave (dlp) could have hung out a bit more but maybe next time. Missed you Ian - bleh. Always good to hang out with the rest of you misfits that I already knew.
You guys have some nice cars and some soon to be nice cars (Jake ).
I'll have to post up my pics tomorrow.
-Schultzy
P.S. Oh yes, and another big thanks to Mark for not entering his nice white (chicks dig it) Trans Am so I would have a shot at the plaque. Thanks duder!
P.P.S. The hub cap shot turned out awesome Al. _________________ Red Sled: 89 GTA, 383, TKO, N2O

I know what its like to have a pig-rich running car........just ask paul or tony
I actually did manage to get out there with a timing light, vaccum gauge voltmeter and deciphered why my car was acting like it had no power.
Turns out it was running so horribly bad because once the engine got to normal operating temp, the vaccum ports on the baseplate were not pulling any vaccum to advance the timing. Found one I had plugged when I put the carb on that was pulling about 11-15hg of vaccum on the top by where the Choke pull-off was, so I hooked it up, reset base timing and it is no longer a bog machine. It is a little on the rich side, but not near as bad as it was. I think I'm gonna either have to get a lower flowing carb or jet the thing down. Tried to see if any adjusttment to the choke would help...not much, seemed to like the default setting the most. Mixture screws are one turn out from full lean. Any less than that and it will stall if it idles freely for more than 10 seconds. I also fixed what I pondered might be my "valve noise" which turned out to be just a obnoxious exhaust leak. It leaks in couple other places, but not real bad and it doesn't make any noise.
A friend of mine has an eldebrock 600 on his truck were gonna try out later this week to see if it improves performance any. It still "diesels" a bit if you really get on it, but not nearly as badly as it did before. _________________

Great pics, thanks for posting. Did they send the 3rd gens to the back while the first gen birds were all lined up in front? How many 3rd gen T/A's were there btw? I would have loved to see that Daytona pacer, looks real clean.
The rain kept me home, I was dissapointed after waxing for 2 days not being able to go. _________________

oh sure call me out Don There were only 3 cars in the 1982-1992 Trans Am category. There was an 89 Formula in the 1982-1992 category (anyone see an issue there lol) and the 20th anniversary car was in the Anniversary car category.
That Anniversary car was SUPER clean - very nice.
Was dissapointed that you weren't there Don. I haven't seen you since my very first meeting with the crew on the Friday night of the first ever dyno gathering.
-Schultzy
P.S. yes, were in the back. Still the most attention I have ever seen thirdgen's get. Was kind of nice. |

Lol
Its been that long, wow. Any chance of the crew comming to the muscle car show? we could all park together
Well Im not surprised that they shoved you guys in the back again, I have put up with that for the last 4 yrs.
Im glad you did get some views though. Here are more pics of the show, of course the 3rd gen stepchildren were not even worth the flash card memory
How was the WWF BBQ?

| we STILL got more respect then the fieros and the "works in progress". however oddly enough the 4th gens and new GTOs were more prominantly placed. |

It was great to meet some of the crew!
Mangus, I know what it takes to do these things and thank you for your generousity.
I was surprised at the great condition of the cars that were @ CHAMPS, makes me feel better about the time and effort( = $) that i've sunk into my cars.
Shultze, awsome GTA, how did you do @ the show?
To the guy with the blue hard top IROC, sorry I dont know your name, what engine do you have in that thing? I just saw the pictures posted here, engine bay looks CLEAN! |
