Yeah, I know they're butt-ugly.
NO RUST THROUGH.
Must be a 2 door.
Straight sheet metal (well, nothing that can't be hammered out.)
Bucket seats, automatic.
Don't care if it runs.
In the best of all worlds it would be a Laguna S3 model.
Looks like this:

It's scary how those are starting to look.. well ...not as ugly as they used to! Long live the swivel bucket! Anyway, I watch alot of velle stuff. Not too much about the 73s, some reason the late 70s malibu's seem more popular. But something might pop up. |

Damn, about a month ago I kept seeing either a 73 or 74 for sale around Tacoma, and I think on Craigslist too, but now I can't find it.
I did find this though... http://portland.craigslist.org/car/180023661.html |

Yeah... I actually went over and checked it out. Met most of the criteria, but the trunk floor looked like a hand grenade went off in it from all the rust through. In fact, I'da scarfed it up if I had access to a trunk floor for it... but it seems everybody stopped making replacements for that stuff past 72's. _________________ "Are you guys ready? Let's roll."

| That seems to be the cutoff point, yeah. Personally, I don't think they really started to get ugly till about 75-76 when the Laguna had that wierd nose. |

That is a sharp looking car, good to see some interest in something that not everyone and thier brother owns.
+1 on the rally rims, I never seen a rim that works on a wide variety of vehicles.
Good luck though..... VHTF car |

Thanks for the tips, CM... it has to be a 73-74...
My brother (who had a severe stroke a few years back) was going to restore my Sister-In-Law's bought new in 73... but he can't do it now.
I've got the car... but it's full of rot. The easiest solution is to get a 73 chevelle 2 door and morph it into an S-3 Laguna.
(Actually, I think "S-3 Laguna" was a trim piece, but oh, well)
So, I'm doing this for my brother and his wife... and SHE deserves it.
Meanwhile, I emailed the guy in Michigan with the 73 SS for more info. _________________ "Are you guys ready? Let's roll."

| According to what i've read 73 is the only year they made an SS wagon. But who knows bout that one. Not much left anyway. Bad thing about SS cars is after 68 you can't tell for sure if it really is one. 68 and earlier all SS cars had a different vin #. |

| Well thats pretty cool anyway. Looks like you won't have much fixing up to do with that car. Hope your brother/sisnlaw like it. |
