Stock block with a .040 overbore; along with stock crank. I've got all the stock rods and pistons if you want those as well. I wanted to build up a 404. Then I bought another pre-built 406, sold that and still have this block. It's been sitting since last year so it may need a quick clean up. I sent it to National Auto Parts in Tacoma, Wa and had them press in new freeze plugs and some near bearings. This things ready to be built. _________________

I decided to keep this for awhile because I wanted to build it for the new boat but I've changed my mind.
I want to get rid of it. Does anyone want to build this? I'll give you crewbies first dibs on it. I'm not sure what it's worth. I think I payed $175 for it and then had it tanked and fluxed along with polishing the crank. I'm almost positive it wasn't turned. It probably needs to be wiped clean. They've both been sitting in garbage bags covered in wd40 to try and prevent rust but I haven't even looked at them since I posted this last time. |

Ian, you wouldn't happen to have this still laying around? My money is pretty tight right now, but I want to at least get started on some sort of build up. Been way to damn long since I was that far into an engine.
Edit: BTW, 4-bolt main, or 2-bolt? |

| No big loss. I'm looking more for a 350 to work on, not a 400. How much did you end up getting for it? |

| Why stick with tuned port? On that big of an engine, I would think not being able to make power over 4500 would start to hurt. |

not necessarily......bigger displacement usually yields better low end torque with a basically stock profile cam. He might not be a super high winder, but he'll be able to pull a tree stump with all the torque from off idle. _________________

when i say TPI i mean fuel injection...
when i build myself a 350, 383 or 400 SBC to go into my GTA in a few years i plan on having it very far from stock. stealth/mini/super ram. maybe even turbocharged.
or leave it TPI and run some ultra stealth N2o and tell everyone it's a 305 i would have to have like... 6 mufflers to pull that ruse |

Say what you mean dude! TPI is "tuned port injected" means original long runner intake. Then you can have TBI, EFI, or PFI. PFI meaning port injected which is what you'll have as soon as you change intakes.
The HSR is pretty sweet.. but beings you have a bird it may not fit under the hood. Our front ends are lower and sweeter then these maro guys. Someone makes a low profile vette plenum but you'll have to figure out extra cost on that. Just something to keep in mind and budget. |

It fits with a tiny bit of trimming. _________________
