So, my crappy 1982 LeBaron has a brand new battery, brand new alternator, brand new starter, and then a lot of smaller components have been replaced to new.
But... it wont start, except when I jump it.
Is it because it is a POS mitsuibishi engine, or is there something I should be looking for? _________________

Eh... I would have to lean towards no.
It will crank the first time I turn the key, but any another attempt after that, nothing. _________________

Well, GM likes to put their solenoids ON the starters, so I'm assuming with your new starter that you also have a new solenoid?? If not, better check man. _________________

yea, check/replace the solenoid. perhaps with the voltage of two batteries the solenoid is working but is too worn for just one battery to supply enough volage for it to work. _________________ Yup, I'm a traitor but I miss my 3rd gen.

What is the actual voltage of the battery?
Have you replaced your positive and or negative battery cables?
If you have too much resistance in either the positive or negative circuit your one battery may not have enough voltage to over come the resistance. Also check you connections on both the positive and negative side. Including the battery terminals because if they are loose the circuit is not completed very well causing too much resistance(check for contamination between post and clamp) and not starting except when jumping would be a simptom. |

No kidding there! With the correct spelling, and even some punctuation, I never realized who posted until you pointed it out! Oh, and Bart you know we wouldn't give ya a hard time if we didn't like ya (and if ya didn't make it so easy) |

Whooo hoo.
It was just a defective battery. Replaced free of charge. _________________
