I see a trend where the aftermarket is developing expensive/exotic things for our cars. Do you think this is a precursor to the market getting hot?
* Detroit Speed did the quadratrac rear suspension
* Heidts recently released an independent rear
* And now this.... http://www.pro-touring.com/threads/121108-Speedtech-s-new-3rd-Gen-Camaro-suspension |

I don't see many of our cars around much anymore. They seem to be getting rarer as the people thin them out lol _________________

Yup, it is always just a matter of time. Once everyone is priced out of any 1st and 2nd gen options... ours will be next to become popular. I think it is still 10+ years out, before anything but the very rare options are worth any real amount of money.
I think it will be a platform that starts to get more popular for pro-touring builds and things like that, and then that demand will eventually drive prices up. |

Pro Touring has only made it to pre-facelift second gens. Give it some time.
Also, since Pro Touring is exclusive to fat old white men, you need to wait until the people who wanted a thirdgen in high school are old and fat enough (and they're only mid-40's now) so yeah, give it 10-20 years and you'll be golden.
lmao at investing in cars though. Don't do that. |

I have seriously thought about buying another third gen and going the usual ls power just to have a fun driver. Gotta keep talking myself out of it otherwise other projects would never get done lol
They seem to be climbing in price and popularity. _________________

Those are some pretty sweet suspension setups. I would like to drive a thirdgen with all the swapped items to compare it to new handling of other rides. _________________

3rd gens are going to go up in value, anyone that gets butt hurt about this is delusional. Prices have been rock bottom for 20 years, still kick my self for not buying that FireHawk for 19K in 2004 when all I had to do was hit submit.
3rd gens were generational cars albeit produced in numbers no other generation experienced. They will climb in value as the younger generation at the time of there prominence become wealthier. It has just taken longer than any other generation F body. Clean, fast examples of 3rd gen F bodies are starting to become valuable, the factory rarities will lag behind proven goods for another decade. They will be worth more in the long run as long as they are somewhat mainstream, like a 1LE car or Formula with a 5.7. SLP cars and Turbo TA's are going to be the breadwinners, but it will be in ten years. |

Drool...wonder what that IR'S costs???? My dream car in HS was a 71 Camaro with IRS and a big FM and BBS wheels. My 2nd dream car was a blue IROC with an IRS, big breaks, BBS mesh wheels and a BFM. |

It is about $7K. I think it uses a Ford 9" aluminum center section and comes with disc brakes too. So it isn't really a $7K part if you have to upgrade those things anyway.... but still a big check to write for one thing! |
