I thought the same thing and had it installed on my car for 5 or so years. Never used it once. It was the most expensive brake line T fitting I ever bought. |

So how do you fix the LS1 rod issue?
Since I went to disc brakes, I think I should have upgraded mine. I did fix the prop valve. |

If you really want to do it right, get dual masters with a balance bar, and ditch the power assist.
But in real seriousness, I think the 4thgen master 3rdgen booster. I am pretty sure it was Al who did a really good write up on the switch.
When you go with the new master, ditch the prop-valve, and run full pressure to the fronts, and put an adjustable valve in the rear lines and then adjust to where you want your bias at. |

I know Al and I have the 4th master and wilwood to the rear. Who else does? By far the best thing you can do for a brake upgrade and cheap! Well, cheap as long as you can flare your own brake line. |

I have that exact setup. It stops the car when we push it in and out of the shop, so winning combination then? |

I tried two different 4th gen master cylinders. Other than the leaky one I got from e-Bay, the only issue I had was the thread depth of the port to the rear line - the fitting was too shallow and its shoulder bottomed on the master cylinder before it seated in the port. I forget offhand which of the two it was, but I'm inclined to believe it was the e=Bay special, which was early 4th gen. The one I have now I bought new at NAPA is for a 2002 Camaro SS. _________________ 92 Camaro

I been obsessing with tryin to get rid of the massive booster/master that our cars come with stock. How do people relocate them? And I think I've seen some BMW's with no visable booster in the engine bay. _________________ Richmond 3.73 posi| 36/24 sway bars | SLP LM2 | Koni's | Ground Control 800/200 | Y2K wheels | Dyno Don headers & Y-pipe | airfoil | BBK underdrive pulleys | Raised strut mounts | Extended ball joints | LCARB'S

Some ABS systems use an electric booster built into their system. |

A lot of bmws run hydroboost.

Let's do this again!
I don't like how my brakes are behaving. I want to trash the dual bore 3rd gen master and get a straight bore 1" master cylinder designed for front/rear disk brakes. What is the bore specs of a LS1 master cylinder? |

All fourthgens had a 1" bore.
V6 and V8 were the same as long as you had discs.
Thirdgen master is hot garbage. Throw in dumpster immediately! |

When I swapped on a 4thgen master, it greatly improved brake feel on my car. Of course, my original master was 30 years old so... _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56

What about the push rod with LS1 master cylinder? According to Baer the clearance should be set to 0.005 inch. If there is more clearance then the brake pedal will have excess travel before responding. |

Not an issue. I forget which rod I used, I think thirdgen. Either way it was nice and responsive with factory parts. |

I used the thirdgen rod. Worked fine for me. _________________ 84 Camaro Z28 - LS1/T56
