Maybe, but I don't have either of those. Any other guesses?

The only 2 circuit breakers are power windows or power accessories. Power accessories includes seats, door locks, and defogger. As of mitchel anyway.

Last question in this thread, I hope.

Anybody got pictures, or can describe how the license plate is mounted to the front bumper of a Firebird? I have the plate on a bracket, but don't remember what was used to mount it to the bumper.

We need an intervention. Don't mount it! Either put it in your windshield, or see how long you can go before you get pulled over.

Sounds like the windshield is a letter-of-the-law kinda thing, same as Washington. Unlike us they have no maximum height, but they could ding you on the horizontal or on it not being "mounted".

To answer the original question: gigantic honking screws just run right into the plastic. Chevy is incredibly bad at building cars, as you have certainly already realized. Laughing

Chelsea let me in on a secret. If you have to mount it, make 2 L brackets that you can screw into the bottom of the bumper cover. That way the screw holes won't be visible when the plate isn't on. I got stopped twice in a week for not having one. So I put it on for a couple months, then took it back off for a car show. It's currently off.

There are already holes. It was from Washington.

Thanks, Aaron. I'm sure I have the screws now that I know what to look for.

Specifically the screws should be black oxide screws, aggressive thread, flat heads and torx drive. T-30 IIRC.

It's got to be a hex. There is only room for an open end wrench. I think I might have found the screws. They are just little things.

Collector plates here only come with one for the rear.

Too lazy to look up the RCW, but IIRC collector vehicles are exempt from the front plate in WA.

Jon, the bracket you have should be three-pieces. The Z-brackets come off of the main plate mount and are screwed onto the bumper first. You shouldn't need to squeeze a combination wrench up in there.

*edit to add a bad picture stolen from GIS:

Collector vehicles are exempt from front plates here in WA, but there are other stipulations attached that mean I will never put a collector plate on any of my vehicles.

Illinois has "Antique" plates. The car is allowed to travel only to car shows, parades, and a service station. Not useful to me.
