Thanks guys!
Today I got the rearend torn down today. Axles looked good and not twisted. Got the third member out. Going to clean everything u and repaint everything. Anyone know what application the 11in ford drum brakes for large bearing ford 9 inch used? I found I am going to have to replace the shoes and wheel cylinders since the drivers side was leaking!
On a side note I really wish the guy that sold me this nine inch many years ago on thirdgen.org was honest since the housing ends don't seem to be installed correctly. Makes putting brakes on a pain in the @ss _________________

LOL yeah those flanges should be horizontal. No idea application on drum brakes though. I used C4 Corvette front brakes for my rears :O) _________________ A redline a day keeps the carbon away! |

Yea when he sold it to me he said it was a moser nine inch. Come to find out the housing is anything but lol
Oh well it has worked so far I'll make it work once again lol
Looks like the rear drum brakes I bought were from a ford Torino maybe.... _________________

Well the brakes are acually from late 70's to early 80's Ford F-150. Got the cylinders and shoes sitting at the parts store for tomorrow's pickup. Also replacing the torn up sway bar bushings on the rear housing. Even dug up an actual third member gasket to time. We're going all out. Lol time to put that silicone away haha
Got this ol war horse all painted up again.
Got one of the bolts out of the Daytona pinion support to dig up some longer ones tomorrow. Had been meaning to address that for quite some time! _________________

Also another thing to note. The guy from QuickTime performance that I have bought several diff items from said that they have some f-body applications that utilize vertical welding of the housing like mine is. Maybe that is what I ended up with.
Going to also swap to some braided front brake hoses (once I can find a set) and possibly change out the calipers since they have been sitting for 6 years unused and I don't know if I totally trust them to haul me down from 140+ speeds or more that this is possibly capable of.
Going to also either run an extra vacuum can or swap to a manual brake cylinder also. _________________

I have a new set of DOT legal braided lines for the front. It was going up for sale when my car is done but you can have them now if you want. I bought the kit for the back lines and the fronts are left over.
Actually, there's a lot of stuff going up for sale when my car is done. Bought extras, leftover parts, or stuff that didn't work out. |

Got the housing cleaned up and ready to install the third member. Also got the drivers side drums setup put together. Tomorrow I will install the third member and passenger side drum setup and axles.
Should be able to get the rearend buttoned up by this weekend. Then it's onto the interior.
I think I am going to put the dirt bike up for sale and free up some funds to finish this car and get back to the track. _________________

Brand new. I used the 3 rear hoses and the fronts are left over. I have a different set of fronts that came with my brake kit. |

Ok so I got the center section in tonight (running behind since getting a nasty cold lol) my 5 year old decided to pass the sickness around lol
Man that center section is a heavy bugger!
Hopefully this week I will get the rearend finished.
Qwk, can you pm me your PayPal addy? I think I will have some cabbage ths week and would like to take those hoses off your hands. After that I need to install new calipers in the front and bleed everything out and be done with the the rearend and brake setup minus adding an aux booster for added vacuum (hopefully this works or I am off to a manual brake setup)
I have been doing some research and I need to add both a flexplate and case shield...... I'm thinking the csr one piece setup should work. A little worried to spend that money just to find fitment issues though. But it sounds like not much fits very nice under the floor of these cars. Anyone have any input?
I ran a blanket before around the trans and while it works it was a pain and also didn't provide any flexplate protection.
Thinking while I am waiting on the shield to show I will get the carpet put in and center console along with gauges and finally a dash lol
Got a bunch of wiring to clean up also. _________________

Right. That is one of the things that is making my rear-end decision hard. I really don't want all the weight of a 9". |

Yes it sure is!
Im not sure what the car weight is now. Once I get it back in fighting trim I would like to scale it somewhere just to find out. _________________

The car weight is less of my worry, but since my car is built to handle, all that unsprung weight, I'm not keen on.
Really wish someone made a ready to roll 8.8" or Dana housing with the TA mount. |

Dewey, a 12 bolt is 30 pounds lighter than a 9" and puts down about 3% more power to the ground. |
